Upper Eyelid (Blepharoplasty) Surgery:

It is said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. However, the skin of the upper eyelids forms folds that hood over the eyes, hiding the beautiful eyes beneath as we age.  Dr. Becker removes excess skin and fat through a delicate incision in the natural eyelid crease during upper eyelid surgery. This restores the rested and youthful appearance of the eyes in women and men.  In addition, women find that they can better enhance their eyes with makeup after the surgery.

Lower Eyelid (Blepharoplasty) Surgery:

Baggy or puffy lower eyelids can make you look tired or old.  Lower eyelids could be plagued with protruding fat or saggy excess skin.  As you age, the fat of the lower eyelids bulges forward making them look puffy.  Dr. Becker removes or repositions the fat through an incision inside the lower eyelid.  Some patients also have excess skin.  This is removed through a fine incision just beneath the eyelashes.  The lower eyelid blepharoplasty helps restore a more youthful and rested look.

Droopy Eyelids (Ptosis) Ptosis occurs when the edge of the upper eyelid droops too low across the pupil.  Droopy (ptotic) eyelids can make the eyes look abnormally small and may block the vision.  Ptosis of the eyelids is often caused by aging.  There are other causes such as trauma.  The ptosis often results form stretching of the tendon attached to the muscle that lifts the eyelid.  In some cases there is weakness of the muscle.  Dr. Becker performs a tucking or shortening of that muscle to raise the eyelid.  Dr. Becker is one of a small number of surgeons in Los Angeles who peform this procedure.
